Open Research / Open Science
Although no changes were expected, it can be seen that Open Research practices are being implemented somewhat more frequently in 2024 than two years earlier (see Figure 63). In particular, the topic of data sharing is now being implemented by significantly more respondents (47% compared to 33% in 2022). At the same time, the difficulties associated with Open Science have decreased in all sub-areas (see Figure 64). This applies in particular to the topic of data sharing. Apparently, a reduction in difficulties in implementing data sharing goes hand in hand with a greater prevalence of data sharing. The assessment of the importance of expanding open science was already at a very high level in 2022 and has only decreased slightly (see Figure 65). This is not surprising, since the question refers to the expansion of open science. Since open science has obviously already become routine and its expansion is at a very high level, further expansion is no longer as important here as it was two years ago.
